Apple iPhone 3G Ups the Ante on Mobile
Once again, Apple has taken the mobile industry to the next level with its latest version of the iPhone, the iPhone 3G. The 3G’s lower cost, improved functionality and faster mobile web browsing capabilities have persuaded more consumers to make iPhones their mobile device of choice. The iPhone has changed the way consumers view their mobile phones. They no longer see them as just communication tools. Instead, they are becoming multimedia hubs that are capable of presenting entertainment, downloadable games, online newspapers and much more . . . in addition to the phone’s communication capabilities.
Advertisers are also beginning to view phones differently. The new features of mobile phones, especially the iPhone, have advertisers intrigued about the possibilities of reaching consumers at high impact moments by using text messaging, mobile web capabilities, downloadable applications, GPS technology, and mobile videos. The iPhone provides new avenues for advertisers to make their mark on the minds of consumers - when they are most likely to act. Imagine the unique and intriguing ways you can reach consumers using the only medium that never leaves their side.
Online Reviews Affect Shoppers’ Spending
Online consumer dialogues about brands and products are playing a big part in purchase decisions for U.S. shoppers. Most shoppers now check online reviews, blogs, and other product information sites before making purchases. This means that advertisers need to be aware of what consumers are saying about them online. It could mean the difference between a sale for your business and a sale for the competition.
Get Loopt In!
Have you ever been in the mall only to discover two hours later that you missed your friend who was there at the same time? For “Loopt “subscribers, this is a problem of the past. Loopt is a social networking service with an added map feature that shows the locations of Loopt member friends in real time. Loopt’s latest feature allows users to notify anyone of their whereabouts via text or instant message – even if they’re not a Loopt member. Loopt’s technology also has potential for advertisers. For example, individuals interested in certain products could be notified of sales when they are near stores that carry items of particular interest to them.
